LF Transition
A nutrient premix specifically formulated to help to reduce the risk of metabolic problems such as ketosis and fatty liver.

WHY CHOOSE LF TRANSITION?

Cow health is closely linked to the capacity of the liver to cope with the changes in nutrient supply – if normal function cannot be maintained, this could lead to ketosis, weight loss, disease complications, depressed feed intake and decreased milk production.

Designed for the pre-calving period and into the first few weeks of lactation, LF Transition ensures that cows receive high levels of rumen protected Methionine, Choline and Niacin, together with other co-factors, to maintain optimal liver function during the transition period.

BENEFITS

AIDS GOOD LIVER FUNCTION

  • Helps to reduce risk of metabolic problems.
  • Aids improved energy use pre and post-calving.

HELPS TO IMPROVE METABOLIC STATUS

  • Helps to support high levels of milk production.
  • Helps to encourage higher dry matter intakes.

DEVELOPED BASED ON RESEARCH

  • Purposely designed to help maintain optimal liver function.
  • Formulated for the needs of high yielding dairy cows.

WHY IT WORKS

The protection of Methionine and Choline is important as it avoids their degradation in the rumen so that they can be absorbed intact later in the digestive system.

METHIONINE WORKS IN 3 MAIN WAYS

  1. It helps to transport fatty acids out of the liver, reducing fatty liver accumulation.
  2. It has a powerful impact on helping to boost the immune function of high yielding dairy cows.
  3. It helps to boost the antioxidant status of the cow during transition.

The inclusion of Choline helps to reduce the accumulation of fat in the liver and thus helps to avoid the risk of fatty liver syndrome. As a consequence, Choline and Niacin help to reduce the build up of ketone bodies in the bloodstream thus helping to reduce the risk of ketosis. Data collected in a study of 3000 cows suggests a return on investment of 7:1.

FEEDING INSTRUCTIONS

Feed via compound feed, blends, meals and farm supplements or as a farm pack. LF Transition should be fed for the transition period of 30 days pre-calving through to 60 days post-calving.

  • Feed at 100g per head per day if only able to be fed during the pre-calving period.
  • Feed at 100g per head per day if only used post-calving.
  • Feed at 50g per head per day pre-calving and 100g per head per day post-calving.
